FAQ’s About Faux Stone Wall Panels:

Most of the faux stone wall panels are approximately 1m2, ranging from 0.8m2 to 1.18m2 depending on the style. The specific dimensions of each style of stone panel is listed in the product description on our website.
The panels vary in thickness depending on the style. To achieve the most realistic look possible some styles the stone panels are more heavily 3D featured and can be as thick as 42mm in some parts. The average panel thickness is 27mm -33mm.
There is no minimum order. Each panels are packaged in its own carton. For larger quantities we despatch the panels on pallets. If a forklift is available to unload the panels at the delivery location it will significantly reduce the freight costs.
There are many advantages for using Panespol panels including:
  • 'Real' stone often requires structural reinforcement to walls. Panespol panels are very light weight meaning most walls do not need any strengthening to carry the weight.
  • There are no specialist trades-people or wet-cutting tools required to perform installation, which reduces cost and mess.

  • Natural building materials like stone are finite resources that require a huge amount of energy to extract and transport. Panespol is constantly seeking to reduce the carbon footprint of creating faux wall panels and offers the benefit of being more sustainable long term.
Yes, due to the characteristics of their composition Panespol faux stone panels have thermal insulating properties. As the panels do vary slightly in thickness the thermal conductivity also is variable. However the panels have been tested and an average panel with a thickness between 27.88mm – 29.42mm has a thermal resistance of 0.4m2 K/W.
The Panespol range of faux brick, stone, slate, wood and beton (concrete-look) panels are all European-made by Panespol Systems in their company-owned manufacturing facility in Spain. Panespol’s experience in this field is unmatched and they are considered to be world leaders in this area with many patents and unique processes.
Yes, the Panespol stone wall panels have class 3 Australian fire certification have been independently tested for fire characteristic in an approved Australian laboratory. Additionally, our panels have a certified group number which is necessary for most commercial applications currently.
Most Panespol panels have an interlock on each side which allows each panel to key into the next panel creating a seamless look. A tube of filler is applied into the joint and then painted with touch up paint to hide the join from view. Yes, all the Panespol panels can be used both in exterior and interior applications. The Panespol panels have been engineered for use in outdoor climates and are not affected by Australian conditions. The panels can be simply cut with standard wood working tools such as a circular saw, jigsaw or handsaws. There is no requirement for diamond or stone based tools. See the videos on our installation page to learn about the process.
Each Panespol panel is designed to be glued to a backing wall using an appropriate interior or exterior adhesive. A mechanical fixings is often used to hold the panels in place until the adhesive dries. Nails and staples can be used or alternatively screws. The fixings can then be filled and touched up blend with the panel.
We recommend that a polyurethane based flexible adhesive is used, which is commonly available at most trade outlets or larger hardware stores. There are a number of brands that are suitable and you are welcome to speak to our sales team for more information.
With an external application the panels must be adhered with a flexible polyurethane adhesive that is rated to a suitable temperature range. The application of the adhesive is panel specific and a different fixing pattern is required. Speak to our sales team for more specific information and advice.
The Panespol panels are lightweight with most panels weighing approx. 6-8kg per sq metre. This allows Panespol to be fixed to most wall substrates without additional building works to reinforce the wall.
Generally 'Yes'. The stone panels can be used in most applications as a direct cladding to a wall. They can be installed onto plaster, cement sheet plywood and other substrates. The panels are not designed to fix directly to studs, battens or top hat section but rather need a backing sheet to be fixed to.
The Panespol filler which is used to fill gaps and joints between panels is specifically formulated for this application and it has microscopic reinforcing fibres which help to lock the panels together for seamless joints.
The base of the panel is a patented, fire-resistant rigid polyurethane that is lightweight and impact resistant. The outer layer contains real mineral that consists of crushed limestone combined with an acrylic polymer.
The Panespol panels have been assessed to be non-toxic, stable and chemically inert thereby providing the benefit of being safe to use. The Panespol patented fire-resistant, high-density polyurethane is made using a water-based process which is a more environmentally-friendly method of production compared to gas-based methods.
Yes, the panels can be re-painted or painted over for a unique finish. The paint used for painting over needs to be water based as solvent-based paints and coatings may damage the panels.

Yes, we provide free samples of panels, which are approximately A4 in size. Contact our sales team to arrange a sample.
